‘The Best of the Best’ STA Travel take me to Muscat.

I was lucky enough to be eligible for the annual STA Travel Global bash.  The Top 10 Travel advisers from each country worldwide based on sales are invited to a new exotic destination for the Global awards party each year.  I qualified for the first ever trip 2 years ago which was held in Dubai,  I missed the second year due to living in Berlin and was quite chuffed to make it this year with having almost 3 months off!   This year the location was announced… Muscat in Oman.  Back to Oman!  I don't think I ever imagined to return to this mysterious country so soon.

 

We left Melbourne on Emirates and were unlucky to not be upgraded to business class, but how can you complain with a free holiday!  18 hours later and a tad drunk we landed in sunny Oman.  The moment from landing we were treated like rockstars.  We were taken to the Shangri La Al  Jissah resort located around 15 minutes from the airport situated on the turquoise blue waters of the Oman sea contrasting the vivid majestic mountains directly behind the resort made a magical desert oasis.

Not allot to report besides copious amounts of alchoal, lots of fun, amazing food and great company.  New friends were made and old ones reunited.

The highlight to the trip was on the last day we were taken away on our own private jet boat to a private barron island decorated like an Arabian oasis.  We had a delicious middle eastern Barbeque and danced the night away to Oman's best DJ’s!  Than to top it all off the return journey was the icing on the cake… upgrade to business class, thank you very much Emirates!
